A shortie glove with an unusual cuff, which has been padded to form a ring held in place by a palm vent and secured with a single button and leather loop.

6 B.L. The back of the glove has a delicate trailing chainstitch embroidered motif which incorporates stylised leaves. The cuff is in the shape of a long bow, the doubled half of which is embroidered to match the motif on the back of the gloves.

A pair of ladies’ leather glacé gloves with white palm, fourchettes and half thumb; pink back on half thumb. Full pique stitching. Made in France in 1970’s, for daywear.

A beautiful pair of gloves made by Gants Chanut and designed by Pierre Cardin, one of the leading couturies during the 1970’s and 1980’s. The pale pink back is superimposed onto a contrasting white cuff. This is an abstract pattern onto which two small additional pink motifs have been appliqued.

Fine quality cotton simplex palm. The woven cotton back is printed with green- leaved pink roses. The gloves look crumpled when laid flat because the palm is a knitted fabric and the back is woven, they look pretty when on the hand.

Although this is a classic style, this pair is a particularly fine example of Worcester craftsmanship. Top quality soft leather, superior wool lining, generous length and beautifully handsewn, made by Morley.

Fine lightweight leather, unlined, 5 B.L., made by Boulton’s, a long established leading west country glove maker. Boulton Brothers developed and patented the Boulton thumb, now universally used for many quality leather gloves.

These gloves reflect the austerity of the early post war years. They show the CC41 Utility Mark which regulated prices but did not always guarantee quality.

A pair of ladies biscuit coloured cotton gloves, with inseam chainstitch, made in England in the 1980/1990’s, for day wear.

5.B.L. Fully shrunk cotton simplex with leather fourchettes. The top quality fabric gives the look and feel of suede helped by the use of the leather fourchettes. This was a speciality of Cornelia James who held the Royal Warrant.
